Garth K. - Alternative Learning Program Teacher (Sunrise School Division)

garth-2.jpg garth-at-the-lake-2.jpgAfter a teaching career of 20 years in Swan River, my wife Donna and I decided we needed to relocate to a community closer to Winnipeg, in order to be nearer to my parents who were in poor health and needing assistance.  While traveling to Pinawa in the spring of 2005 to take part in a community theatre production, I passed through Beausejour, a region of the province I had never been familiar with, and decided this would be a great place to relocate.

Fortunately, a position was available for me with the Sunrise School Division and Donna, a hairstylist, was also able to find suitable employment in Beausejour.  We are both enjoying the community and our work here very much.

This is now my third year teaching senior high students in the ALP and I enjoy my position very much.  The partnership with Network 4 Change has been a very positive move and I believe we are able to make a significant impact on the lives of the students we have the opportunity to work with.
