I’ve come a long way to be living in Beausejour. I was born in Portugal and lived there till I was 14, when I came to Canada, (Winnipeg), with my parents.
Social work was my calling and I graduated from University of Manitoba in 1978—yes I know that’s a long time ago—don’t remind me. I’ve spent most of my professional life working for Child and Family Services, in Winnipeg, until I moved to Beausejour, with my family in July 1999. I’ve continued to work for Child and Family Services in Eastman.
I’ve had a great interest in supporting Fathers to be Better Dad’s and have offered the Better Fathering Group in Beausejour, a number of times over the last few years.
I’ve coached soccer, when my kids were younger, and have been a member of the Beausejour Community Resource Team.
I have a wife and 4 children and we’ve enjoyed getting to know Eastman and the fine folks who live here. My oldest child in now in University and my youngest goes to ESS.
I became a Board Member of Network 4 Change when it was first formed and its been gratifying to see it continue to grow to meet the needs of our community. I’m happy to contribute in any way I can to this wonderful Community Resource Centre.
